ENMWUA Ongoing Operation and Maintenance (o&M)
As various segments of the Eastern New Mexico Rural Water System are completed, ongoing Operation and Maintenance (O&M) efforts are crucial to ensuring the systems' longevity, sustainability, and water quality. O&M activities are currently underway for Finished Water 2 (FW2), Cannon Lateral, and Finished Water 3A Pipelines. A dedicated O&M team is tasked with monitoring these pipelines on a scheduled basis. Tasks include inspecting and exercising all valves quarterly, visually inspecting all components within the interior and exterior of vaults including pipe connections, air release pipes, door hatches, and fencing. The pipeline alignment is also inspected for any potential damaged pipeline markers, test stations, and signage. Weed control of vault areas are conducted on an ongoing basis. All operation and maintenance are documented on O&M logs.
By conducting regular O&M inspections and interventions, the Eastern New Mexico Water Utility Authority (ENMWUA) takes a proactive approach to safeguard the infrastructure against both natural and human influences, ensuring reliable service and system integrity.
